The National Childcare Accreditation Council (NCAC) has implemented the Family Day Care Quality Assurance (FDCQA) system for all Family Day Care services.

Family Day Care operates in accordance with the quality areas outlined in the FDCQA Quality Practices Guide.

The aim of the Quality Assurance System is to provide a way to measure, review and improve quality child care practices on a continuous basis.

The Quality Standards of Family Day Care are based on all the quality areas and principles proposed by the National Childcare Accreditation COuncil.

The Quality Assurance emphasis is upon continuous improvement of the operations of the service as a whole. It involves Home Based Educators, familes and Co-ordination Unit staff.
