Parents are supported and encouraged to be involved when their child is in Family Day Care.

Parents are invited to:

  • Visit the Home Based Educator's home at any reasonable time whilst their child is in care.
  • Meet the Home Based Educators at playgroup.

The communication and involvement of parents is supported to ensure appropriate decisions affecting your child's care in the program are made.
The service aims to provide programs and practices which reflect and respond to the needs of families and the community.
Parents are acknowledged in their contribution to policies and procedures of the program and are provided with the opportunity to participate.

This may occur through:

  • Coordinator, Staff, Home Based Educator, Parent forum/meetings.
  • Evaluation and surveys
  • General Feedback

The Coordination Unit Staff support the child care placements through:

  • Regular follow up and home visits with Home Based Educators
  • Contact and follow up with families
  • Provision of regular playgroups to Home Based Educators and children.
