Home Based Educators are part of a committed team which provide a valuable child care service to the community.

Primary responsibility for a Home Based Educator to Provide:

  • Quality Home Based child care.

  • Activities, programs and play experiences to meet the children's developmental needs.

Co-ordination Unit Staff regularly  provide Home Based Educators with:

  • Supervision, support and resources
  • Playgroup, home visits and training

Pre-requisites for Home Based Educators:

  • First Aid Certificate
  • Positive Notice Blue Card
  • Public Liability Insurance
  • Certificate III in Children's services is desirable. The Kath DIckson Training Division is able to provide training if needed.

What is the cost of the service?

Kath Dickson Family Day Care sevice is registered with the Department of Family and Community Services as an approved provider.
The cost of child care is determined by your family's income. This is assessed through the Family Assistance Office. Eligible families may receive Child Care Benefit (CCB), a Government subsidy to help reduce child care costs. Your income level and care type determind what rate of CCB you are eligible for.
